When you count all the girls and volunteers, there are a whole lot of us in the Minnesota RollerGirls family. When the I-35W bridge over the Mississippi collapsed last week, our thoughts all turned to each other and we were relieved to find out that no one in the league was on the bridge. Many of us live and work near the bridge and we've been thinking of those who weren't as fortunate and wondering what we could do to help. We're a charitable bunch by nature and we've contributed to the Red Cross for Katrina relief and never thought we'd be doing the same for our own community.

We're very, very proud to be able to help those impacted by the loss of the bridge, whether they be the families of victims, rescue workers, or those who lived nearby and have to move. For the entire month of August, 50% of all merchandise sales will go directly to Minnesota Helps. So if you've been thinking about stocking up on some Minnesota RollerGirls merch for the start of the new season, there couldn't possibly be a better time.

Help the Atomic Bombshells raise $2000 for the Animal Humane Society.

RollerGirls love animals. You love RollerGirls. Therefore, you love animals.
The Minnesota RollerGirls will be participating in the Humane Society's 2007 Walk for Animals on May 5! As a league we have a collective "big heart" for our own pets and for rescuing/helping pets that need loving homes. The Animal Humane Society has five Twin Cities locations and cares for more than 35,000 unwanted, abused, and neglected animals each year.

Our goal of $8000 would be enough to: buy diagnostic equipment and lighting for the surgical team, buy an anesthesia machine for the mobile spay/neuter unit, and provide x-rays for four injured animals.

Please support us with a donation by going to our team page, selecting the "Support Minnesota RollerGirls!" button above the thermometer or "Make a Gift" below the thermometer.

Thanks in advance for making a donation on behalf of the Minnesota RollerGirls and helping the Animal Humane Society!

Be sure to put "Atomic Bombshells" in the "add a personal note" field so we know you're a Bombshell fan.

Tension is mounting between the wheeled hellion defenders of America's Dairyland and their adversary across the river in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. The Dairyland Dolls, travel team of the Mad Rollin Dolls, are on a quest to locate their beloved mascot, Snappy. According to a blog post on the Dolls' MySpace page Snappy has been missing for more than three months, but clues to his whereabouts, including disturbing photographs circling the Internet, seem to point to our sister state to the West:

Dairyland Dolls wrote:

Soon after he was recovered from the clutches of the devious Texas Rollergirls, Snappy disappeared again. While we are certainly not pointing any fingers, Snappy was last seen with Rebel Stella and Roxanne Rolls of the Minnesota Rollergirls!

Will the Dolls have to launch a secret recovery mission onto Minnesota's turf? The Dairyland Dolls are ranked fifth in the country and the Minnesota RollerGirl All Stars rank sixth. Stay tuned to the Dairyland Dolls MySpace page as this story develops.

Eve L. says:

I'm sure we have no idea what happened to poor Snappy!
